Hillary's Last Stand
"Wisdom is a gift; you can't train for it, inherit it, learn it in a class, or earn it in the workplace--that access can foster the acquisition of knowledge, but not wisdom." - Toni Morrison
Shouldn't Dr. Maya Angelou be part of Hillary's dialog on race?
Some have wondered why there are blacks who consider Dr. Maya Angelou a 'traitor' to her black race. I don't know if I put her there just yet. But her past words create questions as to why she has not spoken up about her friend Hillary Clinton's need to inject racism and Reverend Jeremiah Wright into this campaign in the many ways Hillary has.
Here, she is speaking to the American Academy of Achievement in January, 1997. She covers many topics still relevant to today, so as you read through this interview, remember it's eleven years old.
It's as if she's predicting an Obama candidacy.
The involvement of the Clinton administration in the sale of defense contractor Magnequench to Chinese interests and the subsequent closure of Magnequench's manufacturing plant in Valparaiso (davidsirota) (PLS) has reached the fringes of the MSM. Hillary, of course continues to attempt to pin the fault on the Bush administration.
But the fact of the matter is that the Clintons’ financial relationship with China from the 1990’s to the present is murky at best if not down right suspicious. Were a serious investigation to come to light, I would suspect Hillary would be kept talking out of both sides of her mouth at the same time from now until the cows came home.
Here are a few of the multitude of articles a simple Google search turns up from most recent working backwards:
Two articles about unlikely donations to Hillary from poor Chinese neighborhoods in New York and San Francisco
When he sits down with Hillary for an hour this Sunday, will Stephanopoulos discuss the centerpiece of Hillary's campaign over the last two weeks, Magnequench?
Again and again in campaign ads and stump speeches (that are now hilarious in hindsight - full ad here), she's come down forcefully on President Bush for compromising our national security and costing Americans their jobs by allowing Magnequench, an Indiana factory for smart-bomb parts, to be sold off to China.
As is now being (under)reported, it was actually President Clinton, not Bush, who approved the sale back in '95. The plant shut down and started shipping equipment to China in '99.
At the time of the sale, George Stephanopoulos was a Senior Advisor on Policy and Strategy. How can George claim to be objective on this when he interviews her on Sunday? To reveal her deception of blaming this on Bush, George'd have to implicate HIMSELF.

A brilliant man, a Rhodes scholar named William Jefferson Clinton stood in front of the gas stove with his sweet protégé, a country known as China, a nation much like a lost lad. The powerful President wished to mentor a territory adrift in the Twentieth Century. As a father might teach a son, Bill handed the boy a box of matches. Hillary Rodham Clinton, surrogate mother as she thought herself to be, while experienced, and wise in her own right, said nothing of the possible peril.
It's a fact that most of Hillary Clinton's supporters are lower class, un-educated, and never went to college. She is CLEARLY using this as an advantage...
Back in 1995 The Clinton Administration approved the sale of an Indiana company that made guidence systems for smart bombs to a Chinese led consortium, who took their prize back to China. Now the Clintons are shocked that W let them leave with the Technology...
Earlier on Hardball Tweety talked to "folks on the ground" from Indiana and NC, one each, as it turns out. I am a little shady on the details, due to my habit of reading this blog while Hardball is on, but I think the guy from Indiana was a reporter from a major Indiana Paper.
What he told Chris down below.
Update [2008-5-2 20:32:10 by PLS]: Kind commenter's have set me straight. The guy from NC was the reporter. The guy from Indiana is Howey, of the Howey Politics Indiana; Daily briefings on Indiana politics blog.

On Monday, I wrote about Hillary Clinton airing an ad decrying the closure of a defense manufacturing factory that her husband, Bill Clinton, helped close by approving the sale of the company to a Chinese state-owned firm. Now, ABC News is running with the story, and uncovers some more ugly details. The Clinton campaign has responded not by fessing up, but by putting out more dishonest deceptions.
This is the ad in question! Here's the transcript, couresty of Keith_Indy;
Hillary Clinton:
Right here over 200 Hoosiers built parts that guided our military’s smart bombs to their targets.
They were good jobs, but now, they’re gone to China.
And now America’s defense relies on Chinese spare parts.
George Bush could have stopped it, but he didn’t.
As your president, I will fight to keep good jobs here, and to turn this economy around.
I’m Hillary Clinton and I approve this message because American workers should build America’s defense.
I'm giving credit to Keith_indy at that blog solely because that's how I stumbled upon this. The real story is after the jump.
