Invesco 8-28-08: Who will do the Warmups?

Tue Aug 12, 2008 at 04:41:03 PM PDT

Everyone knows Barack Obama will accept the nomination at Invesco Field Thursday August 28.  We know there will be 70000 in attendance.  At this point I dont care who the VEEP is going to be.  Every possible VEEP candidate has been thoroughly trashed here and has their own list of "Why I cant be VEEP" diaries easily found here at KosLand.

So lets get to the real issue.  What I want to know is this... who will be doing the entertainment warmup and who will be doing the National Anthem  Thursday night?

Here are my "candidates" for live performances below the fold...

Super Delegates  C-251  O-232

Thu Apr 17, 2008 at 03:33:38 PM PDT

I have to say I have been distracted by the myriad of state polls, daily trackers, and the debate madness and everything else.  Interspersed amongst all this growing histeria have been several supers announcing. Admittedly I lost track of what was what and where we stood.  It is after all, all about the math.

Who is Most Elite? --> With Poll

Sat Apr 12, 2008 at 12:49:25 PM PDT

The latest "bitterness-brouhaha" has added to the growing media meme I have seen lately about Barack Obama being an elitist.

Yesterday SusanG had an excellent summation of the flare-up in this diary.

Today wmtriallawyer has an excellent diary Stick Your Elitism Where the Sun Doesn't Shine about who is or isnt "elite".

Now I have to ask regarding the three standing Presidential candidates, who is "elite"?

I also apologize for another "Elite" Diary.  I am not very slick at this and it took a while for me to put this together.  Upon finishing I see a whole slew of Elite diarys in the queue.  Oh well, into the elite slew I will toss it.

After all, I can only get yelled at or ridiculed for being another "elitist".

Barack Hussein Obama is my guy.  Thats it.  It is final.  Barack is my guy.  I dont care if his middle name was Larrycurlyandmoe, Barack is my guy.  Nothing here on Kos and nothing out in no-brain MSM-land can change my mind.  Not all the things I dont care about are listed below the fold but anything else you can think about, I dont care.

This isnt a diary about the news of the day.  This wont be a diary about anger and hate.  This wont be about my candidate or yours.  This is just a personal rambling of some memories of someone I miss.

Klobuchar at 61% Coleman at 45%

Wed Oct 10, 2007 at 07:02:09 AM PDT

Freshwoman Senator Amy Klobuchar MN-D, is riding high with a 61% approval rating after 9 months in office.  Her counterpart, Senator Norm Coleman MN-R is at 45% and ripe for picking.  61% may startle folks here in Kosland because most of us actually cared about the FISA vote and/or the Move-on vote and Amy crossed us on those votes.

Is Barack Jesse-like ?

Fri Aug 24, 2007 at 02:47:19 PM PDT

Something has been rolling around in my head lately. It is the candidacy of Barack Obama.  Can he really be elected President of the United States in 2008?  Is America capable of electing an African-American?  We know Hillary is preordained.  Her supporters have polls to prove it.  But beyond Hillary winning or losing the nomination battle, I have to ask, could America elect Barack Obama President?  With a black Kenyan father and a white mother from Kansas, a funny name, and midddle name of Hussein to boot, is it possible?

Well could the son of a former US Senator and Vice-President and a future US Senator be defeated in a Gubernatorial race by a Professional wrestler?

Updated: Pawlenty..."How dumb can they be?"

Sat Aug 04, 2007 at 07:15:44 AM PDT

That is what Minnesota Governor Pawlenty said about the DFL (democrats), last May when he vetoed a State Transportation Bill that would among other things, raise the gas tax that would provide money for highways, transportation, and, oh yeah, bridge repair.

Foot Basins, Religous Objects and the First Amendment

Thu Apr 19, 2007 at 04:16:27 PM PDT

Recently a Minneapolis Community and Technical College  plan to incorporate Foot Basins for Muslims to use while attending class has caused a stir.  This was earlier diaried here with regards to a commentary by columnist Katherine Kersten, the local right-wing nutjob on the Minneapolis Star-Tribune.  Here is that original Kertsen piece:  http://www.startribune.com/...
Since then we have had further developments.

Phil Davis, president of the Minneapolis Community and Technical College, never expected his "plumbing issue" to become a national controversy.  However MCTC's plan to install foot baths for Muslims has prompted reaction from both a state legislator and the board overseeing Minnesota colleges.
