A Heavy, Weeping Heart

Sun Nov 18, 2007 at 08:05:44 PM PDT

No this isn't an anti-war diary, not tonight.  I am writing about my own circumstances with healthcare insurance and the medical industry.  I know, I know, it has been diaried to death, but I have to type something about my utter disbelief and frustration regarding private medical insurance.  I have insurance and quite honestly I am very lucky many of you would say.  But, please bear with me.

"D" is for Denial

Thu Oct 05, 2006 at 12:03:54 PM PDT

I am sitting here (I should be working but I can't) and I am reading, watching, and listening to all of this about Foleygate and I am screaming at the computer, the TV and whomever will listen.  I see this continual thread running through this government of Bush and Cheney and all Republicans!  Denial, denial, denial.  There isn't a one of these Republicans that is standing up for the kids involved to my satisfaction.  They are covering their collective red asses!!!  This is the same ole, same ole.  Denial, denial, denial.  All I am hearing is Clinton, Monica, Democrats, scandal, Dick Morris, yada, yada, yada.  Enough.  They are never to blame for anything.  This is the politics of Karl Rove and the Republican party today.  Liars all of them.  Denial, denial, denial.

Bigotry amongst your own children

Sat May 06, 2006 at 07:06:37 PM PDT

I am having a great deal of trouble with this family of mine the last couple days.  I have a husband and 3 children.  Oldest daughter is on her own and in grad school and I would consider approaching successful all the way around.  Next daughter is mid twenties and is struggling to make ends meet on her own on a cosmetologist's salary with no other job or health insurance.  We tried to put her through college, but she said she wasn't "college material".  I maintain she just partied too much and wasn't ready for going away from home.  Whatever, she carved out her path.  We supported her in her decisions.  Next and last child is a son still in high school, junior year.  Our son announced within the last 8 months or so that he is gay.  Therein, lies the bigotry.  Follow me below.

Culture of Corruption--Tie to Family Values???

Tue Jan 10, 2006 at 06:36:43 PM PDT

I know all the Abramoff scandal has yet to play out in the press, but so far I am outraged at Democrats!  Where are the leaders of this party?  Where are your voices?  When the Republicans were crying corruption to take over Congress in '94, it was about ethics.  All through the end of the Clinton years, it was dignity and honesty and values to the White House.  Bush/Cheney '00 campaigned on this twice.  Family Values supposedly became this "huge" issue that drove Americans to the voting booth to vote for 'W'.  All the while claiming honesty, dignity, family values, and ethics.
Look what they did.  They were paid off by a criminal.  They took bribes and sold their souls and some of their wives souls to this creep.  They set up religious charities to funnel the money and had religious leaders

John Dean Opines

Sat Nov 05, 2005 at 05:49:52 PM PDT

I don't think this has been diaried yet, if so I apologize.  I just read John Dean's opinion on where this investigation may still be headed.....See source story at:
http://writ.news.findlaw.com/...
Oh, how I hope his hunch about the precise order of the indictment is correct.  We could have "Happy Fitzgiving" soon!
Please note that I am probably doing this diary completely inadequately, I am a beginner on DKos and so please spare me, but I am open to all positive criticism on how to do this correctly.
Thanks--from a Blue State and Proud of it!

Opinion from a Midwestern Bookkeeper--SCOTUS

Mon Sep 12, 2005 at 10:47:49 AM PDT

That's right, I'm just a bookkeeper from the heart of the Midwest/Illinois.  Born into a blue collar Democratic family, many veterans, by the way!  This is my first diary, I'm am no highly educated genius with a lot of quick wit and big credentials.  Just heart and soul and common sense.  I don't think we should fight Roberts' nomination.  Ask the important questions, so that answers may or may not be documented in the hearings.  But then move on.
It is my belief he is very well liked across both sides of the aisle and is very qualified, unlike many appointees in this Cabinet or Administration.  We need to be careful so that any momentum coming out of recent events doesn't get soured on the SCOTUS nomination and we are seen as whiners and strictly obstructionists again making life more difficult for the Prez as they so often claim.  The Republicans are very good at the spin doctoring.  So, I think we proceed carefully on this and then hit hard where it matters on Katrina and the next nomination.
