Hilary Duff Steals Cusack's WAR, Inc.

Mon Jun 23, 2008 at 12:02:21 PM PDT

I just saw John Cusack's brilliantly explosive satire, WAR, INC. yesterday and LOVED IT, but Hilary Duff stole every scene with her perfect portrayal of a foreign performer stuck in an extremely bad sitution.

I hope my fellow kossacks take the time to support this great film.  It's totally entertaining from start to finish, with unexpected action sequences and war sequences and biting satire that quickly makes it's point.  War, Inc. is about corporate greed gone mad and this movie makes it's point without preaching or lecturing.

Below the fold is my amateur review and a poll:

National Enquirer Slanders Obama (with poll)

Wed Mar 12, 2008 at 04:17:38 PM PDT

I'm sure it comes as no surprise that this filthy rag would slander anyone, but they've targeted Barack Obama.  He's obviously doing something right and they need to slander his good name and do their level best to slow down the obvious groundswell of support and the landslide victory that will be his when we finally get Shrillary out of this race.

Lights Out in LA 8-9pm Tonight

Sat Oct 20, 2007 at 04:10:00 PM PDT

Since global warming deniers have managed to keep most humans in the dark about their contribution to CO2 emissions which create the greenhouse gases that are heating our planet to the point of mass extinction, it's about time some cities in the United States, which is the worst contributor of said deadly gases, took some action.

The 11th Hour's Message (with poll)

Sun Aug 19, 2007 at 03:25:19 PM PDT

I just came home from watching Leonardo Di Caprio's shocking and inspiring documentary THE ELEVENTH HOUR and I can say without a doubt it has inspired me to take immediate action.

If you can't see this movie in your area, I strongly recommend that you contact your local movie theatre and ask them to put it on their schedule.  If you can see this movie, I strongly urge you to take your friends and your family.  It's a movie that tells the truth about global warming, the fossil fuel industry and man's impact on the environment.  It also has some very exciting news for our future on this planet.

Bush Presides Over More Rubble (With Poll)

Sat Aug 04, 2007 at 04:24:22 PM PDT

Is it just me, or have we seen this Bush guy climbing on top of more piles of rubble than any other president in the history of this country?

Starting with his climb to the top of the smoking rubble of the Twin Towers days after 9/11, to climbing aboard an aircraft carrier to crow over the rubble of Iraq, to arriving days after the devastation of Hurricane Katrina to stage photo ops with his pal Brownie, to appearing on the rubble of the Minneapolis bridge, this Bush guy seems to follow destruction wherever it leads him.

And this is the guy who's PROTECTING US.

Yup.  This Bush guy has our backs alright.  He protected us really well on 9/11, after receiving plenty of warning that Osama Bin Laden was determined to strike America and terrorists were rumored to be planning to hijack jets and fly them into buildings.  Yup.  He really is a great protection against those terrorists.

Is Speaker Pelosi Scared of Impeachment? (with poll)

Tue Jul 17, 2007 at 10:07:23 AM PDT

What is it about impeachment that caused Speaker Pelosi to take it "off the table?"  After all, it is one of the greatest strengths of the legislative branch of our government.  Why would she, in her first moments as the new Speaker of the House, throw this power under a bus?

What is Speaker Pelosi afraid of?  Is she afraid of the corporate-owned and operated press that would instantly start a chorus of Rovian quotes calling her "politically motivated" and "out for her own interests" or some other total nonsense?  Is she afraid that she'll be accused of "wasting precious time with something that will never be accomplished" or of "stopping the House from doing the peoples' business" or some other nonsense?  I mean, let's face it, these "people" who make up all this s**t have no limits to the outrageous descriptions they come up with to promote their own agenda.

Decider or Dictator? With poll.

Fri Jul 13, 2007 at 06:03:21 PM PDT

Okay, is it just me or is there no difference between the "Decider" in the White House and a common dictator in any other country?

Let's look at the cold, hard facts on the ground:

A dictator makes all the decisions and refuses to listen to anyone who doesn't agree with those decisions.  Check.

A dictator starts wars against sovereign nations with no provocation.  Check.

Big Oil Must Destroy Gore's Credibility

Tue Feb 27, 2007 at 04:50:24 PM PDT

Al Gore's message is gaining too much traction (i.e. the response to his appearance at the Academy Awards, his AN INCONVENIENT TRUTH winning best documentary, his future appearance in front of Congress regarding the climate crisis) and the one industry that will suffer the most if humans embrace his message is Big Oil.

We're being hijacked by Rethugs, fellow kossacks!

Thu Feb 08, 2007 at 12:14:17 PM PDT

Yep.  That's what I said and I'm gonna stick by it.  And I think it's definately worth this diary because I feel this site is being compromised very regularly by our opposition and it's actually working, much to my dismay.

Is That Egg Drying on Your Face, Mr. President?

Thu Nov 30, 2006 at 09:19:23 AM PDT

I got a great laugh this morning while reading the front page of the LA TIMES.  Seems no one actually can get Maliki's middle finger raised in Bu$hCo's face just right.  Perhaps it was because Bu$hCo met with King Abdullah and the meeting lasted too long?  Perhaps it was because Maliki read the leaked neocon Hadley's memo in the New York Times and got pissed?  Or, perhaps it was because militant Islamic leader Sadr threatened to take down the Iraqi "government" if Maliki met with the "evil" George W. Bush.

Either way, Georgie got stood up last night in front of the entire world.

Is that egg drying on his face, or does he always look that ridiculous?

Why is this puffed up peacock strutting around the world stage making a fool of himself on a weekly basis?  Huge crowds of protestors greet him wherever he goes.  Troops are ordered up in huge numbers to keep those protestors far away.

How is George W. Bush enhancing the United States of America with these failed appearances?  Why doesn't he just stay holed up in the White House, bullying Congressmen and hoping his paid "press" bashes those he bullies instead?

Rove's Control of the Press Ensures Murtha's Loss

Thu Nov 16, 2006 at 10:19:54 AM PDT

He who owns the press owns the message owns the response.  So the first time Nancy Pelosi attempts to lead the House, Karl Rove nips that in the bud with a well-executed smear campaign against her choice for majority leader by circulating the lie that Murtha is ethically challenged.

Pelosi loses, Murtha loses, Dems lose, Rove wins.  Americans lose clear leadership from the majority as the Dems all fall into step behind Rove's ownership of the msm.

And we helped him win, IMHO, because we kept repeated his meme.  Ethics questions about Murtha!  How absurd that we fell for that!  Where the f are the ethics questions about every single Rethuglican still in office?  How about all the ones who've already been indicted and convicted?  They sure fell off the press radar in about a day and a half.

I mean, what ever happened to that dirty old man, Foley?  Where did his story disappear to?  And Haggard?  Whatever happened to following the story that he had private phone conversations every Monday morning with Rove?

Stop the Rove Message Machine Now! (with poll)

Tue Nov 14, 2006 at 03:43:28 PM PDT

Okay, so KKKarl (can you prove he's not a member?) thought he had his "numbers" all sewn up with his Diebold and ES&S fraud machines all ready in key races and, thanks to the outing of Haggard, he was WRONG.  So, we caught ole slimy KKKarl with his pants down (sorry for that image!) and he left the talking heads on their own for a day or two (see Druggie Rush announcing how relieved he was that he didn't have to "carry water for those who didn't deserve to have their water carried" anymore.)

But today is a new day and KKKarl is back on the image bus, quickly coming up with talking points and a nice smear campaign to attack Dems before they even take control of Congress.  And, my dear kossacks, we must stop him before he gets a full head of steam!

The Stench of the Republican Body Politic (with poll)

Wed Nov 01, 2006 at 11:19:09 AM PDT

That smell that's filling all our nostrils, that stinks like a rotting body in the sun, is the fetid stench of fear and internal decay eminating from the Rethuglican body politic.

That stench permeates everything they do, everywhere they go and everything they say.  It drips from them like flop sweat as they obfuscate, deny, distract, smear, fabricate and assault their way to "victory."

And what is victory for these filthy, disgusting, odiferous, nefarious, lying, thieving dogs?  It's a victory found in lies, deceit, fear and war-mongering, hatred, division, destruction, torture and death.

It's a victory for a fascist overthrow of our democracy.

It's a victory for our own home-grown terrorists, Rethuglicans.

Republicans Don't Protect You (with poll)

Wed Oct 25, 2006 at 11:47:41 AM PDT

"Only Republicans will keep you safe from the terrorists!" is their newest fear campaign.

And it must be answered!

KKKarl Rove is framing the message and Dems are defending themselves, but I say enough!

This is our answer to "Dems are aiding the terrorists!":

Republicans were in charge on 9/11 when Al Qaeda attacked us, but they tell us they are the only ones who can protect us.

Are they kidding or do they just think we're stupid?

Corporate Poll Workers? WTF??

Fri Oct 20, 2006 at 07:05:55 PM PDT

Yesterday I posted this regarding getting my poll worker training and the shocking information that new voters in California would be required to show ID, but I didn't mention something that appeared briefly in one of the videos they played at the time that was equally shocking.

The first video they played for the training showed the poll workers setting up, carefully hanging a giant American flag on a wall and putting name tags on as they sat at their various stations.

Then there was a brief mention of corporate logos being placed prominently on the wall and a voice over mention that corporations who had workers in the polls could display their logos on their workers' clothing!

If you are a newly registered voter in California, the letter "N" will appear on the voter registration sign-in sheet and you will be required to show ID, either photo as in driver's license or other photo ID or your name and address on a bill or your sample ballot and you will be allowed to vote on a regular ballot, IF the address on your ID matches the address on the registration sign-in sheet!
