I am quite agitated about the whole Iran thing, in a way I never recall feeling before. I guess it's because I am completely aware that there but by the grace of god, go I.
Iran's slimy little weasel of a "president" reminds me of Bush, and my fears that Bushco would never relinquish power. And I identify with the Iranian people who dared to believe that change was possible, only to have their will mocked. At the same time, we need, the world needs, the change the Iranian people were trying to bring about. Just as the world needed the change we brought in this country.
It's beginning to look like the election and actions of Obama since have inspired young people in the ME into believing change can happen. According to one of the reports on CNN, many of the young Iranians who voted and then protested are calling on Obama. They want him to call the elections into question, fearing that if he accepts the results their cause is lost.
Let's make it clear that we stand with our brothers and sisters in Iran by wearing green tomorrow. Please Rec this diary and spread the idea everywhere you can think of if you agree.
Update from CNN, this thing ain't over yet. There are real splits in the leadership, just as we have seen reported here. I for one want to do whatever I can.
