Howard charted the way to getting the public option done. I didn't get up early enough to hear it verbatim, but this is the re-cap provided by the folks on Morning Joe. The House Bill will include a public option, the Senate Bill maybe won't. The public option gets put back in committee, then it goes back for a vote that only requires 50 votes to pass.
On the next MSBC show that I did catch Howard stated that he still believes that it will pass because this is really a fight between in the Democratic party, and that the progressives are stronger than the Blue dogs. He also feels that the blue dogs will vote for it in the end. So, there you have it! Howard was speaking straight as he always does, telling us what he believes, and he believes we will still get a strong public option. He did a great job of explaining why the co-op plan is a no go as well, like he usually does. So buck up people, all is not lost!
As I didn't hear what he said on Morning joke verbatim, perhaps folks who did can fill in.
